Arthi Agarwal
Aarthi Agarwal (also Arti Agarwal, Aarti Agarwal;born March 5 in New Jersey, USA) is an American -Indian actress . She was brought up in New Jersey until the age of 14. Sunil Shetty invited her to dance on stage in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA when she was barely 14. Big B who was there too. It is said that he encouraged her father to take her to Bollywood.As a result, she did her first film Paagalpan in Hindi in 2001 but it was not a hit.
Aarthi showed an interest for acting at an early age and started her acting lessons at ‘Cours Florent’. But she got a offer from Indian producer for a full length heroine role which she accepted. In 2000 she acted in a movie named 'Pagalpan' in hindi. It was a disaster. But it seems Bollywood is not a place suited for Aarthi. But when she was planning to leave back to America, She was sited by K.Vijaya Bhaskar which made her to act in Telugu .Her debut movie in telugu was " Nuvvu Naku Nachav' with Venkatesh.That movie was a phenomenal success giving new life to Aarthi.
From then there is no turn back to her Almost 80 percent of her movies were huge hits in Andhra Pradesh making her number one heroine in Tollywood She sure did convince everybody that she can act as well as she can look good, after her great performances in Indra and Vasantham. Now many people have bitten their tongues and there are lots of Directors waiting to sign her up in their movies. Its no exaggeration that she is now being called the 'lady-luck' of Telugu film industry, acting with the same ease with youth stars and super stars alike.
It is said that on March 23, 2005 at around 2 AM, Agarwal attempted suicide by drinking bathroom cleaning liquid due to rumors about herself and fellow actor Tarun. She was discharged from the Apollo Hospital at 1:30pm on the same date in Jubliee Hills, Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh.
On February 15, 2006 while she was coming back from dinner to her apartment, she fell while climbing the stairs, but made it to her second-floor apartment, where her father gave her painkillers. When she woke up the next day, her father called a doctor, who advised him to take her to hospital; she then underwent an a hospital in Banjara Hills.
Arthi’s younger sister Adithi has also joined in films. Adithi acted in Allu Arjun's Gangotri.
