I want the audiences to say ‘wow’! – Sunidhi
Sunidhi Chauhan one of the frontline and most sought after playback singers today reached the pedestal after churning out hit after hit songs in Bollywood. Her versatile and modulating voice definitely gives her the edge over other singers and this year she has also bagged two prestigious awards in playback singing for her rendition of ‘Beedi Jalailey’ in ‘Omkara’. Sunidhi started her career as a teenybopper through a nationally televised talent hunt show and is among the top singers today. She has worked with almost every leading music director in the business from Anu Malik to Shantanu Moitra to Sandeep Chowta, to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. She has come a long way, and all this at the age of 23. She is happy with the way her career is moving at the moment and wishes to concentrate on playback singing.
She says, "The journey has been great and I have had an incredible experience at every step. God has been kind and I truly feel lucky to be where I am today. I'm immensely grateful for the constant love and support of my family and friends that help me focus on my career and always strive to do better. I do take efforts to look good. Today, the image of a playback singer is far different from yesteryear. We have to make public, television appearances and the media is all over!"
She is touring 25 cities across India for live performances and about live performances she says, "So many singers lip sync on stage and get away with it. I love performing live on stage. Singing on stage is all about connecting with the audience. I would like to call myself a complete performer, I love dancing and sing my heart out. When I go on stage to perform, I want the audiences to say 'wow!' There's no greater feeling than that. It's only singing that's my baby, my true passion and I wish to concentrate on my music and do more live performances."
